Already an award winning stage actor for his performance as Mike Talman in Fredrick Knott's "Wait Until Dark", Chriss Anglin has made the transition from stage to both the big and small screen with effortless ease. A dynamic presence, Anglin recently starred in David Zucker's "An American Carol" alongside Kelsey Grammar, Dennis Hopper, Jon Voight and Kevin Farley, where he went head to head with these comedy veterans, garnering praise from critics and public alike for his leading man stature and command of the screen with his dead on portrayal of JFK. Born November 19, 1964 in Hamilton, Ohio, Anglin is one of 8 kids. With everyday a struggle for attention, Anglin found himself early on making up plays for his parents or cracking jokes and doing impersonations, a sign of things yet to come. A former law enforcement officer, it was his work as an undercover narcotics officer that led Anglin to his formal theater training which he called upon when assuming personas in executing harrowing assignments. His handsome good looks eventually led him to advertising photo shoots but it but it wasn't until performing for some 200 second graders that he knew acting was his true vocation. Knowing where his destiny lay, Anglin moved to Los Angeles and began studying his craft with a myriad of cold reading and scene study workshops with various acting coaches and casting directors, including Orly Sitowitz. Anglin also spent three years studying improvisational comedy with The Second City/LA, and Robert Easton, who has coached everyone from Sir Lawrence Olivier to Arnold Schwarzenegger, and who served as Anglin's dialect coach for "An American Carol." Steadily working since his arrival in Los Angeles, Anglin has had specialty, feature and commercial roles in, among others, "Collateral" directed by Michael Mann, starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx, "The O.C.", "The Book of Inside Information" with John Cleese, Jan Wellman's "Sex and the USA", Dead Men Walking", T.A. Williams' "Stolen Moments of September" and Leigh Scott's "Pirates of Treasure Island" alongside Lance Henriksen. Anglin recently completed filming on "One in the Gun", "American Asian" and Carey Scott's much anticipated "To the Wall", also starring Stephen Baldwin. In addition to his featured acting roles, Anglin routinely performs his own stunts as well as being a skilled precision driver. With over fifty screen credits, and numerous stage performances, Chriss is a triple threat. He has written and co-written several screenplays that are being aggressively marketed to major studios. He is Executive Producing, acting in and performing the functions of 1st AD for the upcoming horror thriller "Slash", and will soon be stretching his legs as a director.

Archer is also well-known for her poignant Golden Globe-winning performance in the ensemble cast of Robert Altman's Short Cuts (1993) and for playing CIA agent Jack Ryan's beleaguered wife, "Cathy", in Patriot Games (1992) and Clear and Present Danger (1994), both based on Tom Clancy bestsellers.

Born into a show business family, she followed in the footsteps of her parents, actress Marjorie Lord (TV's "The Danny Thomas Show" (1953)) and actor John Archer (White Heat (1949)). Archer studied theatre arts at Claremont College before debuting on the motion picture screen opposite Jon Voight in The All-American Boy (1973). Again the following year, she served as a producer on the telecast. With complete backstage access, the shows spotlighted the haute couture shows of the most famous designers in the world.

Archer has essayed dramatic roles as complex and disparate characters in cable productions of equally distinct genres. She starred with Michael Murphy in the contemporary romantic drama Indiscretion of an American Wife (1998) (TV) for Lifetime and opposite William Petersen in Present Tense, Past Perfect (1995) (TV), based on a bittersweet story by Richard Dreyfuss, who also directed the Showtime drama. Previously, for the same network, she portrayed Dennis Hopper's sexy former wife in the contemporary, gritty Nails (1992) (TV) and for HBO, again, starred with Jon Voight in the period piece The Last of His Tribe (1992) (TV).

Her television performances have also included Neil Simon's Jake's Women (1996) (TV) opposite Alan Alda and CBS's Jane's House (1994) (TV) opposite James Woods. Recently, she received acclaim for a three episode arc on Fox-TV's series "Boston Public" (2000), created by David E. Kelley.

Personal Quotes:

The minute anyone says, ‘Oh my God! You’re so amazing!’ I just have to go, ‘Shut up! Please!’ I am normal. I have just one rule – don’t believe the hype!

[on the set of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010)]: When [director Mike Newell] first met me for the film he said, ‘Oh dear. Can’t you do posh?’ I thought, ‘I can’t believe he’s asked me that!’ So I said (firmly, through gritted teeth), ‘Of course I can, I went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic F***ing Art!’

As soon as I say, ‘I can’t go out in that dress, I’ve already worn it before!’ my dad will say, ‘Listen to yourself! Stop being stupid!’

On making The Disappearance of Alice Creed (2009): I wanted something that was getting down and dirty, and really not about how you look. I wanted to be, like, f***ing hair and make-up everywhere, just not giving a f***! And yes, I get tied up, beaten, and there’s nudity. All the things that made people go, ‘You should not do this!’ But I put my foot down.

When you put yourself in these huge popcorn movies you get out there, in the public arena, more than anyone else. But that also means that you’re out there to be criticised more than anyone else. With Keira Knightley, she’s brave to do her play. Because, for some reason, if you’re successful in Britain, people tend not to like you. But if you’re a successful woman, and beautiful, in Britain, you’re even more disliked.

On one of the [2009] movies, I’d just done this big comedy scene, and all they said was, ‘You need to work on your arms!’ Hey, when you’ve had 12 fingers, everything else looks OK from here. And I said, ‘But what about the acting?’ And they said, ‘Don’t worry about the acting, worry about your arms!’ I just wanted to say, ‘Screw you all! I’d rather do a play!’

I’d really like the type of career Rachel Weisz has. I have a lot of respect for her: brilliant, intelligent, a witty sort of woman… You know, she’ll do a rom-com – not that I ever want to do a rom-com – but then she’ll go off and do The Constant Gardener (2005), have a family, and live a quite normal life, it seems. I respect that.

[on pressure from studio executives on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010)] They sent me to a personal trainer, wanted to get my teeth done, hair extensions, make me look like somebody else. And that’s fine I had the tan, I had the hair, I went to the gym. I became the thing they wanted me to be for the part. But I don’t agree with what they think is beautiful because it’s not me. Unless you’re really famous and successful then they’re going to bully you into going to the gym. It’s a side of the industry that I find uncomfortable.

In comparison to many actresses I think I’m really average – when I got the Bond film Quantum of Solace (2008) there was this big hoo-ha about me not being hot enough, I have to say I agree – I don’t think I’m in that realm.

Sometimes it’s hard to make action and adventure movies real, because obviously you have limitations with the writing. In Clash of the Titans (2010), I have this line: “I imagine you are sympathetic to this plight.” I walked around [on set] going: “Are *you* sympathetic to the plight…?” [laughs] You have to work yourself up to it, a bit like Shakespeare – you really have to *believe* your character says that. In The Disappearance of Alice Creed (2009) I’m shouting, “F*** off, you c***!” a lot. It was nice. I can imagine myself saying that more!
